Thanks to 3G towers newly installed near Mount Everest’s base camp, explorers can surf the Web, tweet, and post Facebook updates without worrying that their signals will disappear into thin air.
I think this is truly amazing. It should certainly improve communication on the attempts to reach the top. Hopefully, it will be able to improve the reaction time of needed rescues and decrease the number of unnecessary deaths associated with the climb.
