I think this is a very interesting development in technology. As the article says, when we are young children robots are something everyone wants. However, having a robot preform tasks that a person can do may cause problems. Since the robot is very costly, would these companies choose to lay off employees? The need for low skill labor by humans may become obsolete.
I think the article raises many interesting questions, however, nothing can replace the common sense of a human being. I don't see this type of technology replacing low skill labor by humans any time soon.
I agree this article does raise an interesting point. Technology is constantly becoming more innovative and is developing at a rapid pace. I believe that many human tasks at some point will be taken over by robots. They could potentially raise the unemployment rate by taking over many Jobs once their technology is perfected and trusted. On the other hand, I would expect many of these jobs to be labor related as opposed as opposed to jobs that involve creativity and common sense.
