Everytime new technology comes out, competitors are so quick to not only replicate the device but to make it better. Even though it didn't get the best reviews, the Streak interests me because I have always been a fan of Dell. I think it's best to wait until all the different choices to come out and then you can figure out what will be the best device.
Really interesting article and good info about the new competitors. It seems that each will have something that sets it apart from the competition. It's interesting the Galaxy Tab will have a phone, it really does seem like a smartphone on steroids. I think that a certain percentage of the population will still stay loyal to their favorite operating system, Apple's iOS, Google's Android, Palm's WebOS, Research In Motion's BlackBerry operating system, and Microsoft's Windows 7.
These competitors all offer something unique, however, the iPad still has the first mover advantage, and as a result they will continue to prosper no matter what the competition comes up with.
Agreed. They all offer something unique but it is not just the product that consumers trust it is the company that makes it as well. For example Apple users are loyal and like to stick with the same brand. All of their different products are connected in some way. Apple was the first to introduce this product and they can constantly make new innovative versions of it in order to maintain their market share. On the other hand, in todays economy individuals are struggling to afford the latest and greatest technology. I think the consumers purchase of which product to buy is going to be based on the best price above all. Although I believe that Apple will remain the dominating force, other products will have an effect on the market share.
