Great article. I hadn't thought about the impact that ipads, etc. had on the netbook industry. It does seem as though netbooks are stuck in the awkward middle ground, because they are very similar to laptops, just smaller and don't always offer what ipads, etc. have to offer including the sleek look and use of touchscreen. Additionally, I have not heard the best reviews of netbooks because of the smaller memory capacity and lack of other common features on laptops. If people are going to put out a couple hundred dollars for a netbook, I can see them spending the same or a little bit more on the ipad or other similar devices because it is a new, innovative product.
Great Article. In my opinion netbooks were never extremely popular. As Kate mentioned they are simply a smaller version of a lab top with little memory capacity. They are becoming an object of the past as new innovative products such as the ipad is dominating the market. The introduction of the netbook was no where near as popular as that of the ipad. Few people are going to spend the money to buy a net book when they can get the newest most innovative product.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Kate, I feel that the iPad and similar products of the same stlye will eventually eclipse the netbook market.
